Spring Break 2009

Spring Break was a blast this year since we got to go to L.A. and see Matt's sister Sarah and her family. The girls were so excited to be flying again and it went really well since Matt won a portable DVD player at work! Ah, the joy of modern technology. Sarah and her Matt and their two girls (Evvie and Margo) took us to some of their very favorite spots: the beach in Santa Monica, the Huntington Library (a botanical garden), and the La Brea Tar Pits. The weather was pretty chilly and we didn't get sun until the last day, but that didn't stop the girls from enjoying the beach. Both times we went everyone got pretty messy! Ruby almost ended up completely in the water when the waves pushed her off balance, but she recovered quickly enough to avoid full submersion. We talked our hosts into doing the Hollywood tour - sorry to report that we had no celebrity sightings. Millie and Ruby were both convinced that we would see Hannah Montana. One of the best times was a grown-up dinner out - I think we laughed nearly the whole time and the girls all loved the babysitter. Ruby wanted us to go out the next night too so Kirsten could come back! It was truly a joy to spend time with our family and we are all looking forward to getting back soon!
