More New Releases....

Okay....call me goofy, or whatever, but I am just so excited about the small things in life. Back in the spring of this year I was inspired by my niece Claire to write a story. She was having some troubles with friends - you know how girls are - and I wanted to write a positive story about a girl in a similar situation. I had many people encouraging me and I found that my girls were encouraged by my undertaking. At the prompting of a few I submitted query letters to several literary agents only to be turned down. A little disappointing, but my expectations weren't real high in the first place. I tried and it didn't work out, and that's okay. My girls and some of our friends enjoyed it and I had fun writing it. It is cool to know that I did something I always wanted to do. Anyhoo....Millie is extremely interested in writing and she was asking me about the process of publishing books. I told her about my experiences and how sometimes book people don't think your book is good enough to sell. She said, "But I thought your book was good." Be still my heart! My daughter thinks I can do something right!!! Anyway, her encouragement led me to self-publish my book for our family, my niece Claire and my friends who helped me edit it (her daughters were my test group). As the man in Kinko's handed me the "bound" copy I know my face was plastered with a goofy grin...he probably thought I was simple, but I was just so excited to see something I wrote looking somewhat "professional". Millie helped me design the cover and I think it looks quite smashing. Thanks for humoring me while I purge my giddiness! Since you won't be seeing it on the shelves of Borders, here is the cover shot of Olivia Jane and the Trouble with Friends:
