Two Little Birds...Outside my Doorway (and some eggs)

Came home from a weekend camping trip to find that a bird had taken up residence in my hanging flower basket. When I checked back a day later I found this little beauty!

A couple days later there were more little surprises:

Maybe you didn't know, but it takes a whole day for a robin to lay just one egg (thanks wikipedia). Usually a clutch, or group of eggs, has four. Millie confirmed that there were four a few days later when she went up for a peek. I just love watching "Mama Bird" snuggle in with her little eggs. She actually has to wiggle around quite a bit to get in there "just right".

We are anxiously awaiting the hatching of the eggs (early next week if my calculations are correct). Can't wait to see those little babies. I love to think of Grandma Ruth and Papa Ralph each time I look at them!
*On a side note: Matt and I heard the coolest bird song when we were up at Tight Lines last weekend. Discovered that it was a Cow Bird. Interesting fact: they lay their eggs in other birds' nests and let the unsuspecting mother raise them - deadbeat parents of the aviary world! Listen to their song/call at http://identify.whatbird.com/obj/107/_/brown-headed_cowbird.aspx. It sounds to me like they are trying to call underwater!
