Veteren's Day

Our school makes a pretty big production of veteren's day and I say "Right On!" Teachers, staff and students were asked to share pictures of family members that served in the military and I was so proud to find so many in my family that have served our country. The sacrifice is great...I don't know that I could do it. We have so much to be thankful for in our country (even with the crazies and the ugliness) and I know we wouldn't be where we are now without the selflessness of those who have served in the military. Of course, I don't want to overlook the sacrifice that was made at home...women like my grandmother who took care of themselves and their children while their husbands were away. They gave too! While I didn't have pictures from everyone who served, we were able to share these with our friends at school. Yes, I cried like a baby when they played the video (the sappy songs didn't help). I am so proud of my great-grandfathers, grandfathers and father who have served (uncles too). Thank you for loving us enough to fight for us!

Rick Chapman (my dad): U.S. Air Force

And this is the one that brought on the crying (I miss them both)

Ralph Robbins (my grandfather), Ruth Robbins (my grandmother) and
their two oldest Mary and Linda:

And not pictured, but not forgotten:
