Christmas this year was spent with family and friends in Kansas City. Matt was lucky enough to have time off from work that enabled us to go out for a week. We spent our time visiting my grandfathers, playing with our old playgroup friends and catching up with the Beyers. It was pretty busy most of the time, but we wanted to make sure and get in all our favorites things. The girls and I painted ceramics with Aunt Marci, Jacob, Claire and Ava - it was especially great to have time with them. It is hard to be away from them. The kids all seem so much bigger and more grown-up each time we have seen them. Matt was able to get in some time with old Sprint cronies (catching up on all Sprint drama is comical to say the least) and a trip to the "boats". Christmas morning was pretty exciting as Santa brought new Princess bikes to the girls. They have had some sunny days to try them out, and while still a little wobbly, I don't think it will take too long before they are zooming along. The other BIG gift was permission to get a puppy (a gift to all the girls in the family)! The girls are very anxious to get a fluffy, white dog like Nana and Papa's Molly. We have started the hunt, and have a great lead on a little girl Bichon from a local rescue mission. We have completed the adoption application and homevisit and we are waiting to get into contact with the "foster mom" so we can get more specific info about the puppy! The girls and I are so excited, while Matt is barely tolerant, but he is so generous to be doing this for "his girls". We will keep everyone posted on the latest dog information as it is forthcoming.
We hope you all had as great a Christmas as we did - full of fun, family and friends!
