Matt and I took the girls to their first concert at Red Rocks in May. The great John Prine came through with Emmylou Harris and, not to be morbid, but we weren't sure how much longer John would be touring. We wanted the girls to see him at least once before he retires and Red Rocks was the perfect venue for that first concert. Of course it helped that the crowd was more tame than other concerts we have attended, but since we are living in the Colorado, some things couldn't be avoided. Millie noticed the "skunky" smell right away and saw quickly through my attempts to blame in on the skunk family that must have been passing through. It didn't help that they had been introduced to the smell at an Avalanche game earlier in the year. Those teachable moments sneak up when you least expect them!
It was a wonderful show and while Millie almost fell asleep we had a great time together dancing and singing along with Johnnie P.

Matt and I headed out a week later for our traditional anniversary event: Big Head Todd and the Monsters. We had a fantabulous time with our great friends Bob and Amy despite the cold and misty weather. Only in Colorado do you wear four layers of clothes, mittens, and hats to a concert in June! Matt and I celebrated 15 years of marriage...how blessed we are!
