Matt's mom told me how when he was little he asked for underwear for Christmas because his were too small. After some investigation she realized they were about 3 sizes too small. I laughed and laughed at that until I did the same thing late last year. Talk about a deadbeat mom! And while you would think I would learn a lesson I hate to admit that my learning curve is not too strong. As the girls and I got ready to ride off to school last week Ruby commented that her helmet was too tight. I took a look at the strap and told her it seemed loose to me. She said, "No mom, it's tight on the top of my head," which prompted me to think about how long they had actually had their helmets....since Millie was about four and Ruby was three! I am praying hard that I haven't stunted their head or brain growth, but since they have been performing well in school and no one calls them "Pinhead" I can only assume that the damage is limited. Thankfully we were able to get to Target stat and purchase some new helmets. Hopefully riding bikes will no longer endanger their brain cells.
Ahhh...what a relief!
I'm going to stay mad about this for a long time!
