Kansas Summer

The girls and I took off last week for a little time in Kansas with my family!  Getting there was half the fun: skirts blowing in the wind, helping a girl with a one-eyed dog and getting a "friendly reminder" from a State Trooper made for an interesting travel day!  We spent most of our time swimming in the pool, but made time for a visit to Crown Center to see the new aquarium.  It was really well done and the number of different sea creatures was surprising.  We couldn't pull Millie away from the tide pool where she held almost every creature they had - starfish, hermit crabs, snails, and sea urchins.  Some of our favorites: the baby octopus, the manta rays, and the baby sharks.

A trip to Crown Center is never complete without lunch at Fritz's.  We love to call in our order over the phone and wait for the train to drop it off.  Greasy cheeseburgers, onions rings and milkshakes make our tummies happy!

The highlight of course is swimming whenever we want.  Breakfast, lunch and dinner revolved around the pool and swim time.  We were all so happy to spend time, not just with my parents, but with my sister and her kids as well.  We happened to be there to help Claire celebrate her birthday with a pool party and friends!
