The First Day of School!

Ahhhh....the first day of school! What excitement. Millie and Ruby set their Hello Kitty alarm last night and we were all summoned out of bed by its overly loud clanging. It certainly got me out of bed in a jiffy! Millie was so excited to go she didn't give me any trouble...got dressed, made her bed and even started breakfast for herself and Ruby. For extra credit she fed Bear!!!! Poor kid, she doesn't realize that doing it once buys her the chance to do it again everyday! Now that I know she can do it. Ruby had a little bit harder time: she didn't want to wear biker shorts or bloomers under her skirt. She perked up for awhile during breakfast, but that was only because I later found said biker shorts hidden behind the toilet. More tears when that plan was foiled! Millie kept asking how many more minutes and was sitting in the car (buckled in) with ten minutes til departure! I hope she is still this excited at the end of the week. They both reported good days and fun with friends. Today was only a half day, so it was a test run so to speak. The real challenge starts tomorrow with full days. I am going to be picking them up and dropping them off for the rest of the week and then next Monday they get to start riding the bus to school. They have been pleading and begging all summer and Matt and I finally gave in. Of course, Mommy might be following the bus the first day just to make sure they get there safe and sound! It's all about letting go a little at a time right? We are looking forward to a great school year with lots of exciting projects and events to share with you!
