Millie's First Bike Ride!

This weekend was a case for waiting: Millie rode her bike without training wheels on the first try! We have put off the bike riding lesson simply because we don't have a lot of concrete to learn on, and Millie hasn't pushed the issue. I told Matt that she needed to get busy on it...it is a rite of passage at about this age right?!?! I ran behind her for a few feet and she was off like greased lightening. Learning to start on her own was a tinge more difficult, but even this she figured out pretty quickly. Ruby tried too, but she wasn't nearly as confident and couldn't make a lot of progress stomping on the brakes every four feet. She did give it her all, singing "I am woman hear me roar" as her own personal mantra. Her version: I am just an embryo with a long, long way to go before I make my MOTHER understand!" She either is trying to send me a message sublimely or she doesn't understand that it is the MAN/brother who try to keep us down!!!! I am hoping to be able to post video of Ruby riding on her own here soon, but until then....I hope you enjoy this as much as we did!
