Soccer Awards Fall 2012

The girls finished their second soccer season and they loved it.  We are definitely ready for a break, but Ruby is already setting goals for the next season!  The Sparklehoppers (crazy name I know) had a great season - we won a few games and the girls fundamentals are rock solid.  Just working on getting a little more aggressive.  I keep offering to teach a few lessons (those of you who had the privilege of watching me foul out of various sporting events can attest to my skills), but the coaches have yet to take me up on it!  I can't tell you the number of times I told the girls that being aggressive isn't the same as being mean!  It will come.  At the awards ceremony Millie was awarded "Most Improved Midfielder" and she earned it.  Those "pull-backs" are awesome.  She has got some fancy feet and she isn't afraid to body up to opponents.  Ruby was bestowed with the "Most Fearless" award!  She wasn't afraid to try her best this season and wasn't easily intimidated to be playing against girls a year older than her.  She took some good knocks this season and got up and kept going!  I am one proud mama!
