Friday the 29th was the first night we spent in our new house! Yeah! The previous owners had possession until 5:00 pm. They left at 4:59 and we pulled in the drive at 5:00 (we were stalking the house from down the street). Matt and I got right to work prepping for paint, measuring for new interior doors, etc. We took a little break to eat dinner - picnic style. The first four days in the house we had no appliances, no furniture and no sleep. During the labor day weekend we: painted the entire downstairs and the girls' room, pulled off old trim, bought and installed new appliances and tiled the backsplash in the kitchen. All in all a very productive weekend. It was glaringly obvious that we were tired of sitting around and not having some type of project. I will posted pictures of the house when it is all set up (still a few things to unpack).
The girls really enjoyed having some space to move. We didn't see much of them all weekend between playing in the yard and spreading out over the whole house. I caught Ruby in a moment of summertime ectasy - playing in the backyard until 8:30 at night!

i am so jealous of your weekend accomplishments...we are approaching the 2 year mark in our house and...welll, the girls rooms aren't blue and we have a new dishwasher...so come to my house when you're done. we sure miss y'all.
