Butterfly Pavilion

We took a little family outing today to the Butterfly Pavilion for some fun before our big week. We are closing on a house in Littleton on Thursday and we take possession on Friday. We are so excited to be moving into a real home and start truly settling in to life here in Denver. Living in limbo has not been so great at times, but it has given us time to relax without a hectic schedule. It is a good thing we had some time to relax - Matt already has a list of projects for us to start when we move in. The house is really nice - we can move right in without doing a thing, but we want to put our own personal touch on the place. Where are the pictures you may be asking?!?! I am going to wait until we get moved in to post the pictures so you can more fully imagine us there!

Anyway, let me digress...the Butterfly Pavilion. Millie's opinion - "This place is not cool!" The rest of us thought it was pretty interesting...lots of cuddly bugs like Hissing Cockroaches and tarantulas. Anyone who dared was given the opportunity to hold one of the tarantulas and I thought for sure Millie would want to give it a try (she being the girl who likes worms and picks the dead frogs out of Papa's pool), but she balked. She asked me to do it with her - the old "you go first" trick - which I fell for! I am very proud to say that I did it (picture included for all you naysayers) and it was not too bad. It felt a little like someone moving Q-tips across my hand. I am still proudly wearing the sticker I received that proclaims "I Held Rosie" (the spider's name). I am thinking of wearing it proudly for a few more days - whatever it takes to make me feel good about myself :) ! A few pictures to enjoy...

Can't believe that you actually held a tarantula! Creepy but very brave! Looking forward to seeing you for Millie's birthday. Dad and I are thinking of taking you all out for dinner at Romanos Italian Restaurant in Littleton. Looks like it might be a bit like Carmens of Brookside. What do you think?
