We are so excited to have budding artists and authors at our house. Millie is learning so much at school and in turn is teaching Ruby so much at home. Just the other night they sat at the kitchen table for about an hour drawing and writing stories. It was so exciting to see Millie stretching her words to hear the sounds and then bowing her little head over her paper to scribble down her thoughts. The flamingo work is hers - she is starting to pick out many sounds in a word and write them. She loves to tell me all about what she is writing everyday in "Writer's Workshop". She is currently working on a longer piece of writing, a book in fact, four pages long and all about our trip to see GranMary and Poppy. Expect to see it soon on the NY Times bestseller list. Ruby loves to keep up (and she IS). She loves doing art at school (the handprint tree) and at home (a fairy and her boyfriend - oh, brother). She also likes to write down words. She is working diligently on writing my name and Matt's. The other day she brought me an "invitation" that said Mabby. So close! It is darling to see her working right alongside Millie, "what comes next Millie?", as they create. We may just be looking at the next Steinbeck and Picasso!
