What could possibly be more beautiful than the turning of the leaves? We took a little trip out to Kenosha pass last weekend to see the Aspens and it was breathtaking to say the least. I actually cried like a baby when we came around the bend of Kenosha pass. It is definitely the Grandma Ruth in me! It wasn't just the beauty of the leaves, but a deep sense that we can have a good life here in spite of what we have given up! Of course having you all here would make things that much better! We spent the afternoon poaching off someone else's land - it was actually some land that is for sale and we had permission, but it still felt a little weird nonetheless. Matt's dream is to have land within the next couple of years to eventually build a cabin on so we can spend time in the high country.

We had a great time picnicing and exploring the mountainside. Chasing the ball down the mountain wasn't as much fun. Millie and Ruby's favorite part was karate-kicking decaying stumps to see if they could knock them over and building a minature village atop another stump - what imaginations. Reminds me a little of Marci and I with our soap opera creation, "Granny's Victim" (ask her about that one later).
