Despite the chilly weather, my birthday was very enjoyable. The girls surprised me a day early with lots of beautiful artwork and cards. Ruby even serenaded me with her sweet version of "Happy Birthday". I was able to spend the day with Millie at her school (see "What's so fun about running?") and I enjoyed lunch with Ruby at her preschool. There was even time left for me to go browse in the local Goodwill store (nicest one I have EVER been in) and spend a little birthday cash (thanks Grandpa ChapChap). It was hard to be away - the first time in my 33 years that I haven't celebrated with my mom and dad - but I consider myself lucky that I have had so many.

Dad was the "hit" of the day with his version of "Happy Birthday" Elvis (70's, Las Vegas, sequin-jumpsuit, doughnut-eating) Presley style. Matt "cooked" pizza for us and some friends came over and enjoyed a fire. It was very relaxing. The evening was capped off staying up until 12:00 reading a great book! (pretty lame, but enjoyable all the same) Thank you to all of you who emailed, sent cards, Facebooked, or phoned - it really means so much to me.

We decided to make it a birthday weekend by going into downtown Denver on the lightrail to eat at one of my favorite Mexican restaurants. The girls loved the idea of riding the lightrail, but the reality set in after a couple minutes and they were a little bored. Starbucks hot chocolate on the way home eased some of the boredom!
