What's so fun about running?

Millie's elementary school had a Fun Run on Friday morning! It was a perfect day for running - a brisk 45 degrees, but not so great for distributing water (which was my job). Millie's class lead the way both to and from a neighboring school and she hung right in there with everyone. She was able to take a little break from running to pose for an action shot. The best part of the morning was watching all the drama unfold. After running only 3 blocks most of the kids had to stop at our water table and gulp down copious amounts of water. So much so that we ran out of water on their return trip. From the looks of most of them you would have thought they just ran the NY marathon. We also had to contend with neighborhood cranks who were very frustrated that they couldn't get in and out of their driveways. One couple stopped to let every race marshall know that they had just had a "medical procedure". Please don't let me become that person. If I ever start to get grumpy and tell you all my medical woes please put me out of my misery! All in all I think the race was a great success...maybe you'll see me running next year. I'll be the one gulping down the water after 3 blocks!
